Isolated and Combined Footing Takeoff

Foundations are a stack of quantities per footing. Build a spreadsheet row per footing mark and the totals fall out.

Combined and strip footings

Combined footings (two or more columns on one pad) and strip footings under walls use the same line items โ€” just longer plan dimensions and often a top mat as well as a bottom mat because the bending reverses between columns.

Waterproofing and protection

Where the water table is high, add a bituminous coating or membrane to buried faces, a protection board, and possibly a permanent dewatering allowance during construction.

Consolidate

Sum by footing mark → total excavation (m³), lean concrete (m³), structural concrete (m³ → cement/sand/gravel), rebar (kg by diameter), and backfill (m³ compacted). Spoil to remove = excavation − backfill, as loose volume.
